“ذاكرة مكان/Thakirat makan (memory of a place)’’, του Δημήτρη Σιδερίδη.

Η μνήμη ενός τόπου γίνεται αντιληπτή μέσω του χρόνου και της σύγκρισης του παρόντος με το παρελθόν. Τα χωριά-φαντάσματα του Κατάρ έρχονται να συναντήσουν ένα επίσης χωριό-φάντασμα και να συνδιαλλαχθούν μαζί του. Μια εικαστική απεικόνιση (φωτογραφία, ζωγραφική, mix media, installation) από την μια, και μια εφήμερη «ανάσταση» του χωριού της Παλιάς Βλαχάτας (λόγω του φεστιβάλ) από την άλλη, καθιστώντας έτσι αντιληπτή μια προσπάθεια γεφύρωσης του παρόντος με το παρελθόν, και προβαίνοντας σε μια τέλεση: αυτήν της συνέχισης της συλλογικής μνήμης ως ανάμνησης μέσω μιας βιωματικής εμπειρίας των δυο τόπων.

Ο Δημήτρης Σιδερίδης είναι βραβευμένος φωτογράφος και εικαστικός γεννημένος στην Κωνσταντινούπολη, ενώ ζει και εργάζεται μεταξύ Αθήνας και Ντόχας.

‘’Thakirat makan’’, the ‘’memory of a place’’ is being perceived through the passage of time and the comparison of the present with the past. Here, the “ghost villages” of Qatar meet and converse with another such “ghost village”. A visual representation (images, paintings, mix media, installation), on the one hand, and an ephemeral "resurrection" of the village of Old Vlachata (due to the festival), on the other, are combined in an attempt to bridge the past with the present and carry out an act - that of the continuation of the collective memory as a recollection through the lived experience of the two places.

Dimitris Sideridis is an awarded photographer/visual artist, born in Istanbul. He is currently based between Athens and Doha.
